Create Vacuum Formed Chocolates at the Fab Lab

By  |

February 2, 2022 – Sarasota

The Suncoast Science Center/Faulhaber Fab Lab celebrates Valentine’s Day with an innovative chocolate-making workshop! Using the Fab Lab’s brand new Formech V450 DT vacuum former machine, workshop attendees are invited to transform 3D printed objects into a custom, vacuum-formed Valentine’s Day chocolate mold. After creating a mold, participants will choose their favorite type of chocolate to add to it, and voila, any valentine is sure to be wowed.

Hour-long sessions are available from 2-7pm on Saturday, February 12, in the Fab Lab at 4452 Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL 34233. The $35 registration fee includes up to three guests and one mold tray. Each mold tray provides space for up to 20 chocolates. An assortment of 3D printed and found objects will be available to transform into chocolates. Objects may include but are not limited to robots, LEGO pieces, hearts, stars, nuts and bolts, animals and more. Please reserve multiple slots if you wish to create more than one mold tray. Participants will be given their custom mold to take home to continue the filling fun time and time again. No experience is required, just a willingness to explore and have fun.
