What do Ken Blanchard, the Singapore Security Police, Mickey Mouse, and David Hasselhoff have in common? They’ve all worked with Barbara Glanz!

A stay-at-home mom for 19 years, Barbara started her own company when she was 50, so her story is one of encouragement for young women. Sharing her inspirational messages of hope, she skyrocketed to international fame, and in 2011 Barbara was inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame, joining luminaries such as Ken Blanchard, Ronald Reagan, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, and Zig Ziglar. 

She is the first speaker on record to have spoken on all 7 continents and in all 50 states to organizations as diverse as Nordstrom, Honda, Southwest Airlines, Bank of America, IBM, Kaiser Permanente, Hallmark, the US Department of Energy, Hilton Hotels, Publix Supermarkets, Disney, the State of Michigan, and Chick-fil-A. 

“I’ve loved speaking on different continents because it’s really broadened my whole perspective of the world,” she shares. “And there’s almost not a city in the world that I don’t have a friend there.”

Barbara is the author of 14 books, including The Simple Truths of Service Inspired by Johnny the Bagger^® co-authored with Ken Blanchard; The Simple Truths of Appreciation, 180 Ways to Spread Contagious Enthusiasm, and CARE Packages for the Workplace. Her newest book is Exhausted, Confused and Ticked Off! HOPE for a New Beginning When Change Has Done You In.

A person of faith, she serves locally on the Designing Women Board and nationally on the Boards of Guideposts and Lead Like Jesus.

Barbara has three additional “claims to fame:” her great-grandfather laid the cornerstone where the four states come together; she played the piano on the TV show Talent Sprouts; and she directed David Hasselhoff of Knight Rider, Baywatch, and America’s Got Talent fame in his first high school play!  Barbara lives and breathes her personal motto: “Spreading Contagious Enthusiasm^™.”
