“I am thrilled to welcome Drayton Saunders to the Van Wezel Foundation Board. We are fortunate to have this group of talented individuals who are passionate about writing the next chapter of Sarasota’s history,” said Jim Travers, board chairman. “Drayton brings a breadth of experience that will be invaluable as we continue our work to realize the promise of a new Sarasota Performing Arts Center at the heart of The Bay.”

From 2018 through 2020, Saunders was also co-chair of the Foundation’s Sarasota Performing Arts Center Community Steering Committee.

“We have the opportunity to create a space that brings our community and the power of the arts together to benefit the quality of life for the entire region,” said Saunders. “We are truly standing at the precipice of the future, and I am honored to be part of the Foundation’s mission.”

Committed to the success of Gulf Coast business and civic causes, Saunders is also active in a variety of local, state, and national organizations, including the National Association of Realtors®.
