Girls Inc. of Sarasota County Announces New Board Members

Girls Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to their board: Melanie Singletary & Jim Rolfes.
Melanie Singletary is a Human Resource Business Partner with Amazon Services. Prior to joining the Amazon team, Melanie has served in multiple human resources positions across southwest Florida. She is passionate about sharing her lived experience and professional expertise to support the mission of Girls Inc. Melanie is an active member of the Sarasota Manatee Human Resource Association and completed the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Leadership Sarasota program in 2020.
Jim Rolfes is a local attorney and shareholder of Dickinson & Gibbons. Jim has been an active member of the Sarasota community for four decades and is deeply committed to improving the lives of children in our community. Jim has served in multiple leadership positions on the board of Children First, the Sarasota County Bar Association, Twelfth District Judicial Nominating Committee, and has volunteered as a Little League coach for over 14 years.
President and CEO Angie Stringer says, “We are honored to welcome Melanie and Jim to the Girls Inc. Board of Directors. This dynamic group of individuals is passionate about serving girls in our community, and we are looking forward to leadership and service these two new members.”.
The officers of the 2021 Girls Inc. Board of Directors are Dr. LaShawn Frost, President; Alicia Larkins, Vice-President; Patrick DelMedico, Treasurer; and Judy Love, Secretary. Other board members are Kelly Abercrombie, John Cox, Jennifer Horiuchi, Molly Jackson, Kay Mathers, Margaret Mobley, Danny Watts, Sherry Watts, and Angie Stringer (President & CEO).
