The Sarasota Ballet Names Board of Trustees for the 2021 – 2022 Season

The 2021 – 2022 Executive Officers for The Sarasota Ballet Board of Trustees are: Richard Johnson, Chair; Patricia Golemme, Vice Chair; Frank Martucci, President; Pat Kenny, Treasurer; Jonathan Coleman, Secretary; Maureen Steiner, Governance; Jean Weidner Goldstein, Founder / Chair Emerita; and Sydney Goldstein, Board Chair Emerita. The Sarasota Ballet welcomes three additions to their Board of Trustees – Sandra DeFeo, Mercedita OConnor, and Jan Sirota. Returning Trustees include Peggy Abt, Isabel Anchin Becker, Ginger Cannon Bailey, Paul Cantor, Lynda Doery, Mark Famiglio (Honorary), Julie Harris, Phil Lombardo, Teresa Masterson, Peter Miller, Rosemary Oberndorf, Dr. Bart Price (Honorary), Audrey Robbins, Hillary Steele (Honorary Chair Emerita), and Jean Weiller.

“After the extraordinary Season The Sarasota Ballet delivered during the COVID-19 Pandemic, we felt it was vitally important to maintain the momentum of this success by continuing to strengthen the Board of Trustees,” explains Richard Johnson, Board Chair. “The Company’s Digital Season brought unprecedented global exposure to the artistic excellence of The Sarasota Ballet, and in addition our Education and Outreach programs continued to positively impact our community. We want to ensure that the Board can properly support and enhance the success of the Company as we welcome home our audience to the theater.”

Created last Season to supplement the strategic initiatives of the Board of Trustees, the Advisory Council of The Sarasota Ballet provides a broader base of insight and experience upon which the Company can build. New additions to the Advisory Council for the 2021 – 2022 Season include Marnie Grossman, Teri A. Hansen, JoAnn Heffernan Heisen, Virginia Peltz, Clara Reynardus de Villanova, and Micki Sellman. Returning members of the Advisory Council are as follows: Ginger Cannon Bailey (Trustee & Chair, Advisory Committee), Maryann Armour, Judy Cahn, Frances Fergusson, Charles Huisking, Robin Klein-Strauss, Peter Kretzmer, Karen Lichtig, Christine Lieberman, Richard March, Joan Mathews, Donna Maytham, Joel Morganroth, Marilynn Petrillo, Rose Marie Proietti, Richard Segall, Lois Stulberg, Marcia Jean Taub, David Welle, and Lisa Wicks.

“The Advisory Council of The Sarasota Ballet is positioned to help The Sarasota Ballet thrive this year,” says Joseph Volpe, Executive Director of The Sarasota Ballet. “With the remarkable lineup of ballets scheduled this Season, the Company is poised to return to stage in full force. Our success for this season, and the years to come, will be greatly impacted by the collaborative work accomplished by the Board of Trustees and the Advisory Council.
