Big Brothers Big Sisters welcomes Teresa Taft to the Team
April 21, 2021 – Sarasota
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast is pleased to announce the addition of Teresa Taft to its dynamic team, as its Community Volunteer Recruiter. The organization will “end the wait,” by providing a positive role model in the life of a child who is waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister. This opportunity has been made possible through the generosity of the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation. Teresa, a Florida native with extensive recruiting experience, graduated from Sarasota High School, State College of Florida, and the University of South Florida. Teresa comes to Big Brothers Big Sisters with 40 years of knowledge of our local community. Prior to joining the team, Teresa worked with General Mills for 18 years as a sales representative and account manager, and as the Major Gifts Coordinator for Suncoast Blood Bank. Teresa brings recruitment experience from Suncoast Blood Bank, and she knows firsthand the value of mentoring, initially under the leadership of her parents and six elder siblings. During her first few weeks as Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Community Volunteer Recruiter, Teresa has already formed partnerships with three local organizations and recruited more than 20 new volunteers/mentors to the organization. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise and serves as the Chief of Staff for the Future District Governor.
