New Places and New Faces: Ramos Center Kicks Off 2021 With New Providers and a Fourth Location

The Ramos Center kicked off the New Year with the opening of their fourth office in Englewood, Fl. This announcement comes at the same time as Dr. Stephen Smith, of Englewood Pain Management, has decided to join the Ramos Center as their sixth physician. The Ramos Center’s Englewood location will be in the same space that was occupied by Englewood Pain Management, at 2061 Englewood Rd. Dr. Stephen Smith will continue to treat his patients from Englewood Pain Management, as well as treating new patients in the Englewood and Venice communities.
Dr. Stephen Smith is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine and has been working as an Interventional Pain Specialist for over 20 years. He attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and later completed his Anesthesiology Residency at St. Louis University Health Sciences Center. Most of his career was spent in Missouri, where he was the Director of Pain Management at Christian Hospital Northeast and Northwest in St Louis for over a decade. He then became owner and Director of Midwest Pain Center and Interventional Pain Center of Chesterfield surgery center for fifteen years while simultaneously serving as Medical Director of SSM DePaul Pain Care from 2010 to 2019. In 2019 he moved to Englewood where he opened Englewood Pain Management. When asked about this new transition, Dr. Smith stated, “I am excited to join the
Ramos Center team of physicians and for the opportunity to serve more patients in need under the practice that they have built.”
The Ramos Center is also excited to bring on their sixth advanced practitioner, Brittany Toledo DNP, APRN, FNP-C. Brittany earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016, her Master of Science in Nursing in 2019, and Doctor of Nursing in 2020, all from Palm Beach Atlantic University. For the past two years, Brittany has brought her nursing skills and compassion to Tidewell Hospice, providing high quality, dignified, end of life care to their patients. When asked about her new role, Brittany states “I am looking forward to giving back and helping improve the quality of life of chronic pain sufferers in the cities where I grew up.” Brittany will be treating patients in the Venice, Sarasota, and Bradenton offices.
