Tidewell Foundation Partners With Leading Restaurants, Gourmet Market on Thanksgiving Meal Donation Opportunities

November 13, 2020 – Sarasota

This month, Tidewell Foundation, Inc. is offering our communities an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients of Tidewell Hospice and its affiliate companies by donating Thanksgiving meals through a partnership with PIER 22, GROVE and Morton’s Gourmet Market. Each donated meal will be pre-made, ready to heat and serve, and hand-delivered to Tidewell patients and their families in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

Each year, many families in Manatee County choose popular restaurants like PIER 22 and GROVE to plan their own Thanksgiving meals. Through this partnership with the Tidewell Foundation, patrons ordering Thanksgiving meals from both restaurants online will also have the ability to order Thanksgiving meals for low-income hospice and home health patients in their communities — allowing them to focus on enjoying time with family without having to worry about affording Thanksgiving dinner or cooking.

“We are looking forward to lending a hand to the Tidewell Foundation and easing the burden for many hospice patient families in Manatee County for Thanksgiving so they can focus on spending quality time with their loved ones,” said Greg Campbell, executive chef & director of operations for PIER 22 & GROVE.

To donate a meal from PIER 22 & GROVE, customers can visit their online Thanksgiving “Bake & Serve” Meals Order Form and select “Donate a Tidewell Foundation Individual Meal.” Customers have until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24 to make a donation.
Additionally, Tidewell Foundation has teamed up with Morton’s Gourmet Market to provide shoppers the opportunity to cover meals for Tidewell patients and their families in Sarasota County. Shoppers can give today by visiting Morton’s online ordering page and selecting “Tidewell Hospice Meal Donation” from the Thanksgiving menu. Additionally, shoppers can fill out donation cards at the check-out line in the store (1924 S. Osprey Ave, Sarasota, FL 34239). The final day to donate a meal through Morton’s is 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.

“We are honored to partner with Tidewell Foundation to provide Thanksgiving dinners to the families in the care of Tidewell,” said Todd Morton, owner of Morton’s Gourmet Market. “Through the generosity of our customers and Tidewell volunteers, complete meals will be delivered to local families, allowing them to spend quality time together. As always, we feel blessed to be part of such a caring community.”

“The Tidewell Foundation is so blessed to have wonderful partnerships with PIER 22, GROVE and Morton’s Gourmet Market to reach into the community for free meals to support our patients and families,” said Tidewell Foundation President Debbie Mason. “Thanksgiving is the best time of year to share our blessings with those in need, and we are deeply grateful on behalf of our patients and families who need a little extra support.”

Annually, Tidewell Hospice provides care for nearly 10,000 patients throughout its four-county service area of Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties. The Tidewell Foundation provides perpetual support for the world-class care hospice and home health care of Tidewell Hospice. Tidewell is celebrating its 40th anniversary of providing not-for-profit, family-centered care wherever patients are – in their homes, nursing homes, retirement centers, assisted living facilities and more.
