NCF Appoints Damon Wade Vice President for Enrollment Management

New College of Florida has appointed Damon Wade, to serve as its Vice President for Enrollment Management, effective October 1, 2020. Wade joins New College from the University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies, where he has served as associate dean for student services and enrollment since 2017. Prior to his stint at UVA, he was the vice president for institutional effectiveness and enrollment management at Grambling State University.

“I’m a firm believer in the liberal arts model, and I know my experience will help New College grow,” said Wade. “It’s important to the state that New College increases its presence and enrollment, and there are lots of opportunities to really sell New College as a destination.”

He increased the freshman-to-sophomore retention rate at Grambling from 68 percent to 75 percent and more than doubled the size of the freshman class. At UVA, he oversaw a 124 percent increase in student enrollment.

“I am looking forward to working with Dr. Wade as we increase the number of students attending New College. He brings tremendous admission experience and a track record of growing enrollments at his previous institutions,” said Donal O’Shea, president of New College.

Wade also served as the director of institutional effectiveness, research and assessment at Elizabeth City State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He holds a master’s degree in Urban Affairs from Norfolk State University, as well as a master of public administration degree and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University.
