State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Communications and Marketing (CAM) department has won five awards in the 35th annual Educational Advertising Awards competition. More than 2,350 entries were received from over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries. This is the third consecutive year the CAM department has garnered such recognition for their design, written and digital works.
SCF won silver, bronze and merit awards in the total advertising campaign, newspaper advertising-single ad, annual report, publication/external and special video categories. Winning entries were the SCF Launch Campaign-B.A.S. in Supervision and Management, SCF Foundation “Funding Our Future” SCENE Magazine advertorial, SCF 2018 Annual Report, SCF Foundation “INSPIRE” magazine, and SCF Foundation “First Responders” Scholarship Video. The CAM team won eight awards in last year’s competition.
CAM staff who had a role in the winning projects include Jamie Smith, director; Marci Shantz, assistant director; Mace Thirtle, lead graphic designer; Sami Dyer, graphic designer; Amarin Cannon, digital communications coordinator; and Nate March, creative content coordinator.
“Our purpose is to collaboratively and creatively execute ‘mission-driven and market-smart’ campaigns as a multifaceted, dynamic team of SCF brand ambassadors,” said Smith. “The recognition of our work by and among our peers is truly rewarding.”
Judges for the competition consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report, the nation’s leading marketing publication for higher education marketing professionals.
