Manatee County is accepting applications for 11 seats on the Affordable Housing Advisory Board, a volunteer committee that makes recommendations to County Commissioners to encourage or facilitate affordable housing.
The group meets on the third Monday of each month from May through November at 3 p.m. in the Honorable Patricia M. Glass Chambers on the first floor of the County Administration Building at 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton.
Applications are available for the following:
- A Manatee County resident engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing;
- A Manatee County resident engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing;
- A Manatee County resident who represents areas of labor engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing;
- A Manatee County resident engaged as an advocate for low-income residents;
- A Manatee County resident who works with a for-profit provider of affordable housing;
- A Manatee County resident who works for a not-for-profit affordable housing provider;
- A Manatee County resident who is a real estate professional in connection with affordable housing;
- A Manatee County resident who serves on a local planning agency pursuant to F.S. 163.3174
- A Manatee County resident who lives in unincorporated Manatee County;
- A Manatee County resident who represents employers in unincorporated Manatee County;
- A Manatee County resident who represents essential services personnel, as defined in the local housing assistance plan.
Applications are due March 13 and may be completed online.
