Local Author Donates 100% of First Book Proceeds to Local Charities
Local retired entrepreneur and philanthropist Mitchell Epstein has released his first book, Mr. Lucky: My Unexpected Journey to Success, with 100% of proceeds being donated to local charities, all supporting scholarships and less fortunate children and families in the community.
Epstein, a first-time author, was inspired to write about his own life’s stories, challenges and “Mr. Lucky” perspective while mentoring two local young men who were homeless shortly before he met them. The book, a gift from the heart that Epstein hopes will inspire readers during this holiday season and beyond, demonstrates that you don’t have to be the smartest person in the room to succeed in the business world. His unique viewpoint – presented in an entertaining and easy to read format, enabled him to take what an associate called “the stupidest idea” ever and build the foundation for a business that was so successful it allowed him to retire at age 47.
His passion for mentoring young people helped him recognize that his purpose in life is to inspire people to be more successful in their careers and happier in personal relationships and life.
“How would you describe losing your house to a fire? Being held up at gunpoint? Falling off the roof face-first? You probably wouldn’t choose the word lucky, but I did! I was inspired to share a perspective that will help others become more prosperous and feel more joyful,” said Epstein.
The beneficiaries of his first book are:
– Forty Carrots Family Center
– Children First
– V Foundation – Pediatric Cancer (Dick Vitale)
– New College
– Ringling College
– Delta Sigma Pi – Business fraternity
So, whether you’re just starting your career, launching your own business, or seeking greater satisfactions in your everyday life, “Mr. Lucky: My Unexpected Journey to Success” might be just the perspective you need to help you become more prosperous and feel more joyful, according to early reviews.
Rosanne Cash, multiple Grammy Award winning musician and author says, “Mitchell Epstein has a big heart and a generous spirit, which he has translated to the page in ‘Mr. Lucky,’ I particularly enjoyed the chapter about my friend Eric Wishnie, Mitchell’s brother-in-law, who died far too young and left a hole in all our lives. Trying to make sense of failure, loss, love and the unexpected paths that open to us, is a worthy and honorable endeavor, one that Mitchell has undertaken to serve those less fortunate.”
The book is available now on Amazon and will be in local bookstores soon.
