More than 200 Impact 100 SRQ founding members, friends, corporate supporters, non-profits and community leaders will gather to meet the five local non-profit finalists vying for $228,000 in grants for community-changing project.
Impact 100 SRQ debuted earlier this year as a new local non-profit chapter in the international Impact 100 network with a goal to award $100,000 high-impact grants annually to charities in Sarasota and Manatee counties. In its inaugural year, 228 local women stepped up to pool their resources, enabling the local chapter to fund two $114,000 grants designed to deliver lasting change in the community.
On Oct. 15, grant finalists will have the opportunity to share more information about their programs and meet the philanthropic women making the grants possible.
“It’s incredible that 228 women have come together in our first year to collectively fund not just one, but two $114,000 grants supporting new, life-changing initiatives in our community,” said Jane Watt, Impact 100 SRQ chapter president. “Impact 100 SRQ women give individually so we can collectively impact our community.”
Impact 100 SRQ, which selected five finalists from 84 grant applications submitted its first year, is changing the way Sarasota and Manatee counties experience philanthropy.
“Through our collective giving,” Watt continues, “Impact 100 SRQ members demonstrate leadership and comradery as we cultivate community transformation together.”
