The Sarasota Military Academy (SMA) High School Athletics program has announced the Inaugural Soaring Eagle Golf Challenge event planned for April 18, 2020 at The Meadows Country Club in Sarasota. The charter school’s athletics program is currently accepting sponsorships and donations for the challenge.
With a variety of sponsorship opportunities available, event organizers are also accepting items for a silent and live auction after the challenge. SMA is a non-profit public charter school and all donations are tax-deductible. Funds raised will be used to support the high school athletic teams for the 2019 – 2020 academic school year.
“We are incredibly excited to announce our inaugural golf challenge event to benefit the athletics programs at Sarasota Military Academy and our talented athletes,” said SMA-MAJ Amy Mazner, Sarasota Military Academy High School Athletics Director. “SMA Athletics depends solely on fundraising to support our teams in a mission to provide life lessons for our cadets through sports, and events like this will allow our cadets and staff to continue finding success through academics and athletics!”
Notable achievements for the 2018 – 2019 school year: Four SMA high school teams were recognized as FHSAA Academic Team Champions, earned at or above a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and 14 of the student-athletes were recognized as Herald Tribune Prep All-Stars throughout three counties.
