Banyan Tree Chocolate is delighted to announce medal placement in the International Chocolate Salon for two of their truffles; “Spicy Sunset” and “Hibiscus Caramel”.
The Spicy Sunset truffle – a blood range pate de fruit layered with a dark chocolate-chipotle pepper ganache won the top prize in the “Best Spicy Chocolate” competition and was described by judges as “Spicy Sunset melts fruity flavor, a creamy texture, and the lightest hint of spice into a little piece of chocolate heaven.”
“I was absolutely thrilled” said Founder and Master Chocolatier Morag Reid, “our customers and clients are always saying how wonderful our chocolates are, but to receive recognition from such a prestigious organization really tells us that what we do is top-notch.”
Spicy Sunset also won for Best Ingredient Combination, Best Taste, Most Unique, and Best Flavor
Hibiscus Caramel won for Best Exterior Design, Best Packaging, and Most Unique.
The International Chocolate Salon was founded in 2007 by TasteTV and TCB Cafe Publishing and Media. At that time TasteTV produced the first major artisan and premium chocolate event on the West Coast of North America, the San Francisco International Chocolate Salon. This event was followed by Chocolate Salons in Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, as well as other cities.
In 2009, the International Chocolate Salon began award competitions focusing on various categories of chocolates and confections.
To this day it is one of the premier international bodies celebrating and honoring artisan and premium chocolates and confections.
