Transportation is a significant challenge for individuals who have epilepsy or suffer from other seizure disorders. In the State of Florida, individuals are prohibited from operating a vehicle until they are seizure free for a minimum of six months. To help individuals overcome this challenge, JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation awarded Epilepsy Services of SW FL with 30-day SCAT bus passes to distribute to individuals who participate in the ESSWFL Epilepsy Medical Clinic.
Andria Bilan, CEO, JoshProvides presented twenty-five bus passes to Alex Batalla, Case Manager & Barbara Coleman, Community Outreach Coordinator of Epilepsy Services of SW Florida. In 2019, JoshProvides has awarded a total of fifty bus passes to directly help ESSWFL clients with their transportation needs.
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that will impact 1 in 26 people during their lifetime. It is estimated that more than 400,000 individuals in Florida have been diagnosed with epilepsy. Seizures are unpredictable and directly impact the health and safety of the individual. To learn how you can help support individuals with epilepsy, visit www.JoshProvides.org
