From the French company Chambord known for its blend of luxury materials and authentic French expertise, the Louis Le Grande III sink combines the traditional French Traditional styling with today’s functionality of a “workstation sink.” The sink incorporates ledges on the top edges to accommodate convenient accessories like cutting boards and colanders.
Victoria + Albert baths are a sculptural form of sheer beauty and are the centerpiece of any bathroom. Sloping waves and minimalist angles are expressed in an infinite array of colors that highlight or blend with your color schemes. Designs include styles from American Postmodernism, Belgian Minimalist, and Brazilian Modernism and can be made with a matte or gloss finish. Victoria + Albert baths are available in varied sizes, including 57”- 59”, allowing you to replace a standard 60” skirted bathtub with a modern, freestanding tub without requiring major construction.
With modular designs, Robern medicine cabinets give you numerous personalization options. You can add electrical outlets, night lights, interior lighting and organization accessories. Its latest enhancement is the IQ Digital Lock Box. It has a simple digital keyboard that opens the door to a compartment for medicine storage and to keep other items safely away from children or any other uninvited guest. You can also receive tamper notifications via your smartphone.
Drains are getting an update as well with this practical and convenient invention to replace traditional drains. Called ZeroDrain, it’s the world’s first pop-up drain. Easier to install, easier to clean, and easier on the eye, it’s available in 28 artisan finishes. Should the drain become dirty or clogged, the plunger simply lifts out from the top to easily clean and drop back in. There’s no more taking apart the whole drain assembly to clean it, nor is there an under sink-mechanism to fail or get rusty or loose.

According to the design team at California Closets, what’s trending is people wanting more peace, calm, and order to their otherwise uber-busy lives. From closets of all sizes to children’s rooms with daily giant messes, to busy home offices and underutilized spaces, there’s no doubt that organizing personal surroundings helps design a better life. Some look for simplicity with clean lines and monochromatic color schemes, while others go bold with color in smaller spaces. Gold accents also is a trend that seems to be here for the foreseeable future.

The demand for poly outdoor furniture is higher than ever, with no signs of slowing down. Poly is made of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), a recyclable plastic derived from post-consumer waste such as milk and detergent bottles. Poly is essentially maintenance free because it requires no waterproofing, staining, or similar recurring maintenance. The most popular color picks include “textured” poly – poly designed to look like wood, and tropical colors such as aruba blue.

We’re seeing lots of outdoor spaces optimized with high-quality, year-round furniture in flexible groupings. Some excellent material options are polyresin wicker, thick recycled plastic, steel, or teak wood that isn’t affected by sunlight or salt exposure. Any fabrics you use to enhance the space should be rated for both indoor and outdoor use, as these types are made to be easy to clean and resist fading or rotting. They’re especially useful if you’ve got high-spirited kids or pets that love using your outdoor space.
Having a few different seating area options allows for easier conversation and a more intimate feeling than one big open seating area when hosting large parties. Chairs and loungers are grouped around a small table or set on large outdoor rugs. Backyard kitchens keep the chef involved in the merriment, and are sporting new grill accessories, brick ovens, and outdoor refrigerators. Even paint colors are going bold, with bright choices to repaint decks, pagodas, walls, and sheds.

WARM HOME TRENDS
from Barbara Gardner of Collins Interiors • 941-383-0131
Warm metals such as gold leaf, copper, brass and bronze are bigger than ever and are beautiful accents on hardware, plumbing fixtures, on furnishings or woven into fabrics and trim.
There’s also a strong emphasis on handmade and organic textures on fabrics such as wool, mohair, velvet, and lofty cotton and silk blends heralding the goal of a cozy, warm, and comfortable home – a trend the Danish call “hygge”.
