2021 Orioles Spring Training Credential Applications Now Available
February 19, 2021 – Sarasota
Media credential applications for all 2021 Orioles Spring Training games at Ed Smith Stadium are now available through Major League Baseball’s online credentialing system atcredentials.mlb.com.
The Orioles will not issue any season credentials for the 2021 Spring Training season. BBWAA cards, including gold cards, will be honored at Ed Smith Stadium, but members must still submit a daily credential application to serve as notice. All media who wish to cover games at Ed Smith Stadium must submit a daily application at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled event.
Credential requests for the 2021 Spring Training season will be considered in accordance with Major League Baseball guidelines, Florida state orders and local regulations, and the club’s health and safety protocols. As such, the number of credentialed media per game (excluding game TV broadcast crews) will not exceed 11. This includes print media, photographers, BBWAA members, and local television and radio affiliates. Only one member per outlet will be approved each day.
Approved media will receive a confirmation email with their approval status the night before each requested game. Advance notice is vital in order to plan for physical distancing and limited seating availability. Media members who have been approved for a game but find themselves unable to attend must notify the Orioles Public Relations Department as soon as possible.
All media approved for a daily credential will automatically be added to the 11th Street parking list. Media must present a photo ID to the attendant to gain entry to the lot. Media should enter the ballpark through the Media/Employee Gate off Euclid Avenue, just south of Café 54. Security staff will provide credentials upon entry following the completion of intake screening. The entrance will open to credentialed media 1.5 hours prior to the scheduled first pitch and will only be open for 1 hour. Media must arrive during this designated time. Early access will not be granted, and latecomers will be denied entry. All media are required to exit the ballpark no later than 60 minutes following the final postgame interview, but are encouraged to leave as soon as their work is completed.
By submitting a request for and receiving a media credential for access to Ed Smith Stadium, a media member agrees to observe all Major League Baseball and Orioles rules, any applicable state and local government orders, and other precautionary steps that are in place to preserve health and safety.
Orioles credentials are valid only at Ed Smith Stadium. Media wishing to cover games at other venues must apply at credentials.mlb.com via the home club.
Credential applications must be completed by the designated Editor or Sports Director that has been assigned asthe outlet’s Affiliate Manager. Please note: A photo and email address will be required for each applicant. All requests for credentials must be completed online. No other applications or requests will be processed. Once submitted, applications will be locked, and changes or additions will not be accepted without permission from Orioles PR. Please do not submit applications until they are completely finalized.
Outlets that have never used MLB’s online credentialing system or media with any questions regarding credential guidelines should contact Liam Davis at ldavis@orioles.com.
