It’s no surprise that Gina Ursini is excited about opening her new firm. Brista Realty, a branch of her developer husband’s company Brista Homes, represents a new direction in her life and allows her to work in the areas she loves most — design and helping people.

A former teacher and 30-year resident of the Sarasota area, she finds that skills that proved successful in teaching serve her well in real estate.

“I look at my role as teaching and guiding clients through the buying and selling process,” she said. “I love decorating and design and have since I was a teenager. When buyers or sellers learn that I have this background they ask for my advice. They call it ‘Gina’s Touch.’”

Gina gets right in there with sellers, moving around their furniture, rearranging, and adding and subtracting household items to show a property in its best light.

“Something small can make a huge difference,” she said. “I have gone into homes that were so filled with furniture you couldn’t get a feel for the floor plan. I removed some furniture, redesigned the home using their current furniture, had it professionally cleaned and they sold right away.”

Gina doesn’t just help home buyers. She and her husband committed themselves to an orphaned boy in Uganda, helping him along his life’s journey, paying for his education. “He graduated from college last May!” she said. 

Closer to home, Gina is helping a homeless mother “get out of poverty and back on track.” She moved mother and children into one of her husband’s investment properties and is providing guidance that will help propel them into a bright future.

“The most important piece of advice I’ve ever received is to prioritize God, family, and work in that order. I try my best to live up to it. I believe that it is true.”
